Kylian Mbappe believes Lionel Messi deserved to win the Ballon d’Or after winning last year’s World Cup in Qatar
Messi won the award for the eighth time, amid a competition with Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
“Messi had to win it. He won the World Cup, he for me, if not the greatest, is one of the greatest in history,” said the Frenchman. “Haaland had a wonderful season, me too, but in relation to a World Cup they don’t weigh much”.
