The German is unlikely to sign a new contract with the Bavarians. The current deal expires in 2025 meaning he could be available at a low cost next summer.
The player thinks to leave the club next year. Things have reportedly not been ideal for him since Bayern replaced Julian Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel.
Manchester City and Real Madrid should have a financial advantage over Barcelona in the race for the 28-year-old. However, neither the Citizens nor the Whites have much need for Kimmich as they have Rodri and Aurelien Tchouameni respectively. Barça, on the other hand, are looking for the first defensive midfielder.
The German was said to have been offered to Barcelona by his representatives last summer. However, the financial situation of the Catalans did not allow them to transfer the German superstar.
Things could change next summer if Barca offload Ansu Fati and several other players for a good fee and have the funds to bring the German closer, as the Catalan club appear to be his choice.
