Q. Who’s the most famous person in your contact?
“Zinedine Zidane from Madrid. He was my coach, he’s pretty famous I guess (laughs).”
Q. Feeling of having Zidane as your coach?
“It was crazy, of course. One of the greatest of all time in football & someone who played in my position. Legendary. A bit surreal, really, especially the whole experience of training with the best in the world. It’s a dream.”
“Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, so the pressure is the most there.”
Q. Your return to Real Madrid in 2020 & being on the bench?
“I was at Real Sociedad & had a great time, everything went really well. I thought I was going to stay there for 2 years, then it was only 1. I came back & it didn’t turn out like I thought. Then it was a bit like ‘enough is enough’.”
Q. Why didn’t you try to stay longer at Real Madrid?
“My time in Madrid was good. It was positive. I learned to mature & was a great learning, but I needed to play more. I’m happy with the decision to leave & how it went. If I hadn’t been at Madrid, I wouldn’t have reached the level I have today.”
