Cody Gakpo was injured in the north London derby and is expected to be out for several weeks.
The Dutch forward was injured against Tottenham after being tackled by full-back Destiny Udogie.
He tried to continue and even scored a few moments later, but failed to play in the second half.
Jurgen Klopp initially described the injury as bad and did not offer much optimism.
Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink, who reports for Gakpo’s former club PSV, has provided an update.
Elfrink, who was one of the first to report Liverpool’s interest in Gakpo, says Gakpo is “expected to be out for a few weeks”.
Gakpo is not expected to return until after the international break and could miss five games with Liverpool.
