Saudi Arabia lost to Costa Rica (1-3) and South Korea (0-1) in their last two matches
Roberto Mancini, announced on August 27 as the new coach of Saudi Arabia, certainly did not have the debut he was aiming for.
Defeated by Costa Rica, the players and coach were prevented from speaking at the end of the game; whistleblowing and much controversy.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Mancini’s arrival has yet to convince the Saudis, with the coach already under pressure as Saudi Arabia is around two months away from the start of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
It should be noted that before the qualifiers for the next edition of the World Cup begin, Saudi Arabia will play two friendlies in Portugal, against Nigeria and Mali, during the October break.
