Mane rejects luxuries: If I wanted to, I could buy 10 Ferrari cars, 20 Rolex watches, or two private jets, but for what?

Sadio Mane has been mocked several times because he often carried a broken but functional phone, even though he earns millions of euros a year.

Mane has responded to those who have criticized him that to get to this day he worked manual labor and many other things.

The Senegalese striker has said that he has another mission in life, saying that he does not mind luxurious things.

“Why should? If I wanted to, I could buy 10 Ferrari cars, 20 Rolex watches, or two private jets, but for what? I was hungry and had to work in the fields while I was thirsty. I survived wars, hunger, extreme hunger, I played football barefoot, I didn’t study and much more”, said Mane.

“But today, thanks to what I earn from football, I can help my people. We have built schools, hospitals, playgrounds and provided clothing, shoes, and food for people living in extreme poverty.”

“Moreover, I give 70 euros a month to everyone in a very poor region of Senegal to support their family’s economy. You don’t need to show off a new generation smartphone, a gold Rolex, a luxury car, luxury villas and private jet trips.”

“I prefer economy class. I prefer my people to take a little of what life has given me. This is called an honorable war against selfishness, against poverty, against hunger everywhere in the world, not only in my country”.

This text highlights Sadio Mane’s humility and dedication to helping his community and those in need, choosing to prioritize their well-being over material wealth and luxury.
