Liverpool and Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk believes Jurgen Klopp’s side are in transition.
Last season Liverpool had a disappointing performance in the Premier League, finishing in fifth place and missing out on the chance to play in the Champions League for the first time since the 2015/16 season. But Liverpool are currently third in the table with ten points from four games, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
“We are in a kind of transition phase with Liverpool,” Van Dijk told Dutch media ahead of Holland’s 2024 European Championship qualifier against Greece in Eindhoven on Thursday.
He has expressed that he feels good as the captain of the team.
“I feel good and strong. I think it went well against Chelsea and Bournemouth. Despite the red card against Newcastle, it’s a good start. I can’t wait to get back,” said the Dutchman.
