Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino claims he would be happy with his squad even if the club fail to bring in any new reinforcements in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea have spent over £320million on 10 players this summer, but are also believed to be active down the line, with Arsenal’s Emil Smith Rowe and Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson among the players they are interested in. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Marc Cucurella are expected to leave, as is Romelu Lukaku.
“I am very happy with my team, what I have now. If we add another player, we can fix some positions, but even if it doesn’t happen, I’m satisfied. To be honest, I’m more focused on getting my injured players back while the club continues its work. There are still a few days left, so some things can happen. I have nothing else to add,” Pochettino told the press conference ahead of tomorrow’s EFL Cup tie against Wimbledon.
