Luis Rubiales has resigned from the position of president of the Spanish Football Federation, after he kissed footballer Jenni Hermoso on the lips after the World Cup final.
Rubiales went viral after kissing Hermoson during the World Cup medal ceremony, where Spain beat England 1-0.
Regarding this case, FIFA opened disciplinary proceedings against Rubiales on Thursday, reports Klankosova.tv.
“The FIFA Disciplinary Committee today informed Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, that it is opening disciplinary proceedings against him based on the events that took place during the final.”
FIFA said the incident “may constitute a breach of Article 13 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the FIFA disciplinary code”.
