Mason Greenwood will no longer be a Manchester United player.
The decision came with a statement published on the club’s official website.

Manchester United have completed their internal investigation into the allegations made against Mason Greenwood. Our trial began in February 2023 after all charges against Mason were dropped.
Throughout, we have considered the wishes, rights and perspective of the alleged victim alongside the club’s standards and values, and sought to gather as much information and context as possible.
This has required us to proceed with sensitivity and care in obtaining evidence that is not in the public domain, even from persons with direct knowledge of the case.
Based on the evidence available to us, we concluded that the material posted online did not tell the full picture and that Mason did not commit the crimes he was originally charged with.
That said, as Mason publicly admits today, he has made mistakes for which he is taking responsibility.
All involved, including Mason, acknowledge the difficulties of restarting his Manchester United career.
It was therefore agreed that it would be more appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve this.
