He was arrested last year in the night club “Sutton” in Barcelona under the suspicion of raping a young Spanish woman in the bathroom of this bar.
As AFP writes, the Brazilian was on vacation in Spain, after playing with Brazil in the “Qatar 2022” World Cup.
He has been held in custody since then.
He was denied bail after authorities reportedly deemed him a prison escape risk.
The 40-year-old said in June that he has a “clear conscience”.
No date has yet been set for the start of his trial.
