The criticism leveled at him for the decision to sign Al-Nassr has not been forgotten.

“I will not return to European football, the door is completely closed. I am 38 years old and moreover European football has lost a lot of quality. The only competitive league is the Premier League, they are way ahead of all the other leagues. “The Saudi league is better than MLS. I am 100% sure that I will not return to a European club,” concluded the Portuguese ace.
