Poem by Petrit Ruka

A naked woman makes no shadow in bed
One night undressed, we’ll lie and sleep
(Praise God, ne’er wake but hide in a nook)
My shadow from the Moon will shiver and flip
On shingles in the river like a trout in a hook.

No shadow around, when you do undress,
(All naked a woman, no shadow in bed,)
She turns into spirit and lights through the glass
A God’s Law does act and Physics is dead…

Physics is dead, so I the God’s grain,
Pierce through your body sans soul like a bead,
In longing I move through tears that drain
And ne’er shake them off eyelash or lid…

And for the first time and for never more,
Drowned into light, no shadow to cower,
I will surely die on the dreams afore,
That I lastly slept with a red-cherry flower.
