Arsenal lost the Premier League title in the last laps, but now they are back with some transfers, which for Arsene Wenger, they are also aiming for the title.
The Gunners legend is convinced Mikel Arteta’s side have learned how to handle the pressure of a title race and can once again take the fight to the finish with Manchester City.
Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber have signed with Arsenal for an amount in excess of 230 million euros.
Wenger was asked if he would buy Declan Rice for the amount paid. “If I had money, why not?”, answered the Frenchman.
“I had to cope without money, so you have to find another way. Now Arsenal are in a good financial situation and they have bought what they think will win the championship.”
“I think it’s a good investment and overall I think they’ve made good purchases. They are all mature, 23 [years old], 24. And still young and can stay together for a few years.”
“Of course they are under more pressure this year, but they learned a lot last year and showed they can deal with that kind of pressure,” Wenger said.
