The Argentine star was close to returning to Barcelona this summer after parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain, but in the end he changed his mind and will spend his last years in the United States of America.
But is it possible for the 36-year-old to play again in Barcelona?
The president of the club, Joan Laporta, answered the question of the Spanish medium “Mundo Deportivo” in this way.
“It’s harder now, so you have to ask Leo. We all wanted this to happen, but it was not possible,” the head of the Catalan club initially declared.
“He will always be in top form, but I cannot risk and expose myself by saying that he will play for Barcelona again,” concluded Laporta.
