Footage has emerged of the Camp Nou stadium being demolished as Barcelona move ahead with plans to rebuild the iconic stadium.
Footage released by Spanish media shows cranes tearing down external structures, just six weeks after the La Liga champions played their last game there.
Barcelona’s £1.25 billion ground renovation is continuing with the hope that a new look Camp Nou will be fully completed for the 2025-2026 season,
Last July, the Catalan giants announced they would be leaving their historic home and playing the 2023-24 season at the Olympic Stadium, which hosted the 1992 Summer Games.
The temporary home is very close to Camp Nou, so it shouldn’t cause too much trouble for Xavi’s side.
The stadium will see its capacity increase from 99,354 seats to 105,000, while the renovation will also include a pitched roof with solar panels.
The name of the stadium will also be officially changed to ‘Spotify Nou Camp’ as part of their sponsorship with the music streaming platform.
