Neymar was offered to Barcelona and the Spanish club where he spent four successful seasons rejected the possibility of his return.
Among other things, the Brazilian won two Spanish championships and the Champions League with the team, while playing 186 games with a performance of 105 goals and 76 assists, after which he left for PSG.
Unsatisfied with the situation there, he asked his agent to negotiate with Barca, but his idea to return was rejected.
Goal.vom writes that there are two reasons behind Barcelona’s decision. The first has to do with finances. Barcelona is in a difficult financial situation and can hardly offer Neymar the money he receives at PSG and can get elsewhere.
He currently plays for PSG, with whom he has a contract until the summer of 2025, for 40.8 million euros per season.
The second reason is related to the atmosphere in the team. The club believes that the arrival of such a star could disrupt the relationship between the players and that it could then affect the performance of the team in the season in which Barcelona is defending the title in Spain.
