Despite having just one year left on his contract, Real Madrid are willing to pay €200 million for Paris Satin-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.
According to L’Equipe, Real Madrid are committed to signing the Frenchman this summer, even if it costs him 200 million euros.
The news comes just hours after Mbappe dismissed speculation he was trying to force a move as “lies”.
He has made it clear that he will be fully committed to PSG until his time at the club is up – but if Madrid have their way, that time could come soon.
With Mbappe unwilling to renew his contract with PSG next summer, this could be the club’s last chance to cash in on their star man.
They will no doubt be tempted by Madrid’s increased bid, which is partly a result of the club’s decision to stop their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.
The need for a new world-class striker has been heightened by the departure of Karim Benzema to the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
