Real Madrid are looking for a striker next season, who can replace Karim Benzema.
As reported by the Spanish media, the Madrid club has focused its attention on Joselu Mato, who currently plays for the Espanyol team.
Joselu is a valued player in Spain, and has scored 15 goals for the Catalan club this season.
The 33-year-old is a product of Real’s academy, where he scored 40 goals and made 8 assists, so this is another strong reason why the Madrid club is trying to transfer him.
Joselu made his debut with the first team of “Los Blancos” on May 21, 2011, where he scored a goal against Almeria, when he was only 21 years old.
During his career, the tall striker has played for various clubs in Spain and abroad.
Espanyol this season seriously risks falling from the elite of Spanish football and if this happens, Real can transfer Joselu for a very cheap price.
Joselus’ contract with Espanyol expires in June 2025, but interest from the 14-time Champions League winner could see him move soon.
