Juventus star Paul Pogba made his first start in 390 days but lasted just over 20 minutes before leaving in tears after another muscle injury.
The midfielder got off to a great start against Cremonese at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, having a few shots, but when he hit a long-range effort from a corner kick, he suddenly stopped and immediately felt something was wrong.
ogba was visibly troubled as he received treatment on his left knee and thigh, but was able to come off the pitch to make way for Arkadiusz Milik.
Juventus’ medical staff informed ‘Football Italia’ that it is a left quadricep issue, as muscular as the knee, but it could still be the end of his season.
The 28-year-old pulled his shirt over his face to hide the tears, which were still visible after a reassuring pat on the back from coach Max Allegri.
Including this evening, Pogba has been able to play only 159 minutes of football with the Juventus jersey this season.
It also means he will miss next Thursday’s Europa League semi-final against Sevilla.
