Both of these national teams have managed to defeat big teams to reach the finals of this competition.
England defeated Sweden in the semi-finals with a score of 4:0, while Germany beat France 2:1.
England have won just two of their 27 meetings with Germany in all competitions and have lost against them more often than any other opponent.
However, the Lionesses won their last meeting 3:1 in February this year.
Germany have won all four of their meetings with England at the UEFA Women’s European Championship by an aggregate score of 15-4. This is the first meeting between them in the tournament since the 2009 final with a 6-2 victory for Germany.
England will be taking part in their third European Women’s Championship final, having previously lost to Sweden in 1984 and Germany in 2009.
This is Germany’s ninth appearance in the UEFA Women’s European Championship final.
They have won all eight of their previous finals, including a 6-2 victory against England in 2009.
Today’s match is held at Wembley, starting at 18:00.
