Lionel Messi was booed by a section of PSG fans in their 1-0 defeat to Lyon at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
Henry, Messi’s former team-mate at Barcelona and now a football analyst, did not hesitate to defend the Argentine against the whistles.
“It’s embarrassing to hear the whistles at the Parc des Princes, you can’t whistle one of the best players in the team with 13 goals and 13 assists,” he said.
The former French footballer also shared on Prime Video France his desire to see Messi back at Barcelona.
“It’s not information, it’s a wish, that Messi should return to Barcelona for the love of football and because he didn’t leave the way he should have,” said Henry.
“The tears at his farewell show me that.”
