Barcelona can demand 100 million euros from UEFA if they are excluded from the most important competition for clubs in Europe, the UEFA Champions League.
The highest football body in the “old continent” is now investigating Negreira’s case and if UEFA decides to exclude the “Catalans” from the Champions League next season, the “Blaugrana” club will file a lawsuit and demand compensation.
The €100 million figure is based on Barcelona’s Champions League winnings each season. Plus, this includes damages related to sponsorship or merchandise revenue the club will lose as a result of UEFA’s decision.
It is noted that UEFA must wait to make any decision until the Spanish courts rule on Negreira’s case, otherwise, Barça could sue the organization in the event of an unjustified dismissal.
