Chelsea manager Graham Potter has said he is suffering mentally after he and his family received anonymous threats following the club’s poor form.
The Blues have won just two of their last 14 games in all competitions and were recently beaten 1-0 by bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
“I have received several unpleasant emails saying that they want to see me dead. This is definitely not pleasant to deal with,” said Potter, lajmi.net reports.
“You can ask my family how life has been for me and for them. It has not been pleasant at all. If you go to work and someone insults you, it will not be pleasant. You can answer in two ways. I can say I don’t care, but you know I’m lying. Everyone cares what people think because we tend to be socially connected,” he added.
The former Brighton manager said the anonymous emails had also referred to his family.
The ‘Blues’ are currently in 10th place in the league, 11 points away from the Champions League places.
Under Potter, who was appointed in September after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have won just nine of their 25 games.
