Zinedine Zidane was appointed ambassador of the Alpine F1 team on Thursday, now the Frenchman says he remains active in the world of football and hopes to return to coaching.
According to an interview given to Le Figraro, the former coach of Real Madrid has not ruled out returning to his job at the end of the season.
Although Zidane has made a surprise appearance in the world of Formula 1, where he has admitted that he has no plans to leave football. In this interview with Le Figaro, saying that his appointment as an ambassador for the Alpine F1 team, the former Real Madrid coach says that he aspires to return as a coach in a team.
Although his name has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, as reported by RMC Sport, the coach believes he will take charge of a team at the end of the season.
“It’s part of an agreement we have with Alpine,” he said.
If I need to dedicate myself to it tomorrow, it would not stop me from continuing the work”.
“Returning as a coach continues to be my desire. I have time today, but I don’t know how long it will last. I have time now, maybe until June, but it can also go very quickly.”
Zinedine Zidane has been without a team since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, where he managed the Spanish giants for a second time and finished with a league title.
He was considered the favorite to take over the leadership of the French national team after the World Cup in Qatar. However, the new contract for the French coach means that this option is gone.
His name has also been linked to several clubs such as Juventus and PSG. The latter comes after the poor results that Christophe Galtier had.
