However, according to news from Marca, Barcelona are prepared to appeal to the Federation – in a bid to have his ban reduced. Neither player is likely to escape a sanction entirely, with the evidence speaking for their involvement, but Barcelona will target the mandatory two-game ban for a red card.
Torres is expected to be included in Barcelona’s squad for the Spanish Super Cup as they face Real Betis in Riyadh on January 12.
