Mikayla Demaiter is not only the beautiful hockey player, but she is also an incredible athlete. She has been playing hockey since she was a child and has always been passionate about the sport. Demaiter is currently a member of the Canadian Women’s National Team and has competed in multiple IIHF World Championships. She is an incredible role model for young girls and is proof that women can succeed in a male-dominated sport.
Mikayla Demaiter was born on October 27, 1995, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. She began playing hockey at a young age and quickly developed a love for the sport. Demaiter played for the Brantford Girls Hockey Association and then went on to play for the Brampton Canadettes of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League. In 2014, she was recruited by Cornell University to play for their Division I women’s hockey team.
Demaiter had an impressive career at Cornell University. In her four years with the team, she tallied 45 goals and 42 assists. She was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team in her first year and was a two-time ECAC All-Star. Demaiter was also named Cornell’s Most Valuable Player in her senior year.
Demaiter has been a member of the Canadian Women’s National Team since 2016. She has competed in multiple IIHF World Championships, winning gold in 2016 and 2017. Demaiter is also a two-time Olympic silver medalist, winning silver at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
