Barcelona have abandoned their attempt to sign Julian Alvarez this summer.
Atletico Madrid have rejected the Catalan club’s offers, including a proposal worth €100 million for the Argentine striker.
Alvarez is under contract with the Madrid club until 2030, while his release clause stands at €500 million.
After failing to secure the services of the 26-year-old, Barcelona must now turn their attention to other alternatives to strengthen their attacking department.
