Vinicius Junior is on the verge of signing a new contract with Real Madrid that will keep him at the club beyond 2027.
The Brazilian forward is expected to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu for several more seasons, with both parties reportedly close to finalizing a new long-term agreement.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has broken his silence following Brazil’s disappointing elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, sharing an emotional message with fans on social media.
“I want to apologize, and I will continue fighting for our dream of bringing Brazil back to the top of world football,” Vinicius wrote, as reported by Gazeta Express.
The Real Madrid star revealed that he needed a few days to process the disappointment before speaking publicly.
“Even after four years, I found myself wondering what I should write after another World Cup disappointment. I have seen thousands of people supporting us and sharing our dream, so it wouldn’t have been fair to remain silent. Still, I needed a few days to reflect.”
Vinicius also spoke about the pride of representing his country and the pain of Brazil’s early exit.
“Wearing the Brazil shirt is the greatest honor of my life, and being eliminated in the Round of 16 is a feeling that is incredibly difficult to describe. All we can do now is accept the pain, learn from it, and keep working. Thank you to everyone for your unwavering support. We will come back stronger.”
Despite the World Cup setback, Vinicius is now set to focus on the next chapter of his career, with a contract extension at Real Madrid expected to be officially announced in the near future.
