Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken about Lamine Yamal ahead of Spain’s opening World Cup match against Cape Verde.
For Ibrahimovic, Yamal is a player he expects to light up the World Cup stage.
“Lamine Yamal is a special player. He is the kind of player for whom you pay those very expensive tickets, a player who makes you come to the stadium and simply enjoy the experience,” Ibrahimovic initially told Fox Sports.
“On TV, he looks special and impressive. But up close, he is even more special.”
“At 18 years old, it is incredible. Every time he touches the ball, you can see that he is different. His ball control, his dribbling, his ability to score goals… so all my hopes for a great match are on him,” the former Swedish star concluded.
Ibrahimovic’s Sweden is fortunate not to be in the same group as Lamine Yamal’s Spain.
