Spalletti and Conte Refuse to Speak Ahead of Juventus–Napoli

Juventus will host Napoli in a highly anticipated Serie A clash on Sunday evening, but in a strange turn of events, both managers, Luciano Spalletti and Antonio Conte, have refused to hold their usual pre-match press conferences.

Not only is Juventus–Napoli a duel between third and fifth place in an extremely competitive race for a top-five finish, but it is also a double reunion: Conte as a former Juventus player and title-winning coach with the Bianconeri, and Spalletti as a Scudetto winner with Napoli.

Despite the high profile of the match, Conte has decided to focus entirely on training following a 1–1 draw against Copenhagen in the Champions League earlier this week.
He has chosen not to speak to the media on this occasion. Meanwhile, Spalletti was scheduled to address journalists at around 4:00 pm on Friday, but the press conference was canceled roughly two hours before it was due to begin.

This is not the first time that Conte or Spalletti have avoided press conferences this season, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the situation appears particularly unusual.
