Pedri’s injury during Barcelona’s Champions League match in Prague has turned out to be more serious than initially thought, Spanish media report.
According to Diario AS journalist Javi Miguel, the Catalan midfielder struggled throughout the match, affected by the cold conditions and the tight marking from the opposition.
In the 58th minute of the game, Pedri collapsed on the pitch clutching the back of his right thigh and was immediately substituted by the coaching staff.

Initial assessments point to a possible muscle tear, while final medical tests are set to be carried out in Barcelona in the coming hours. If the diagnosis is confirmed, the 21-year-old is expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks, another blow for the midfielder who has suffered recurring injury problems in the past.
This development represents a serious concern for coach Hansi Flick, who is already without Gavi and Andreas Christensen due to injuries.
The situation becomes even more difficult as Frenkie de Jong will miss the final Champions League group-stage match against Copenhagen due to suspension.
Barcelona are expected to release an official statement on Pedri’s medical condition soon.
