Real Madrid legend speaks out for the first time after heart attack reports

Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos has categorically denied rumors about a deterioration in his health following reports that he had been hospitalized. The former Real Madrid defender clarified that it was a planned medical procedure and not an emergency situation.

The 52-year-old reacted through a post on his Instagram account, where he dismissed reports of a heart attack.
“I would like to clarify the recent information that has been circulating. I recently underwent a preventive medical procedure, previously planned with my medical team. The procedure was successful and I feel well. I did not suffer a heart attack,” Roberto Carlos wrote.

He added that the recovery process is progressing positively and that he hopes to return to his professional activities soon. The former footballer also thanked the medical staff and fans for their support, stressing that there is no reason for concern.

Roberto Carlos is considered one of the greatest left-backs in football history. With Real Madrid, he made 527 appearances, won four Spanish league titles, and triumphed three times in the UEFA Champions League. In 2002, he was crowned world champion with Brazil. During his career, Carlos also played for Palmeiras, Inter, Fenerbahçe, and Corinthians.
