Barcelona has officially confirmed the contract extension of key defender Eric Garcia for another five years, keeping him at the club until 2031.
The 24-year-old, who came through the La Masia academy, has demonstrated excellent performances and maturity on the field, becoming one of the team’s most reliable players under the management of Hansi Flick.
Garcia has played as a center-back, right-back, and defensive midfielder, earning the trust of both the coach and the club’s management.
The official signing ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 11, at the club president’s office, where the player will also speak to the media. Barcelona described Garcia as a role model for the academy and a cornerstone of the Blaugrana’s sporting project.
