Lionel Messi has once again written his name into football history.
The Argentine forward last night helped Inter Miami win the Eastern Conference title in the United States. This was his third trophy with the American club since his arrival.
With this, Messi has now reached a total of 47 career trophies, setting a new record, as no player in the entire history of football has ever won more.
The 38-year-old contributed with an assist in last night’s final, where Inter Miami defeated New York City 5–1.
Messi is now also the player with the most assists in history, with a total of 405—surpassing Ferenc Puskás with 404 assists and the Brazilian legend Pelé, with 369.
