Barcelona are planning to sign a new striker next summer, as they look beyond Robert Lewandowski for the future.
The 37-year-old is in the final year of his contract and no progress has been made on an extension, indicating that he is set to leave.
Although the Polish star is willing to continue, as he feels confident he can still contribute at the highest level – despite not being in his best form this season – his high salary remains an obstacle for the Catalan giants.

According to Sport, despite having Ferran Torres, Barça are determined to recruit a top-class striker, drawing up a shortlist consisting of Julian Alvarez, Harry Kane, Serhou Guirassy, and Karl Etta Eyong.
Alvarez’s chances have taken a major hit after Atletico Madrid’s takeover by Apollo Sports Capital. They see the Argentine as a key part of their project.
Meanwhile, Kane’s name has been mentioned in recent days, with his contract at Bayern Munich expiring in 2027.

The English striker is in excellent form, but Bayern may be forced to sell him next summer if they fail to convince him to extend. The 32-year-old could cost around €60 million. A similar fee may be demanded by Borussia Dortmund for Guirassy, who has been equally prolific over the last two seasons.
The cheapest of all would be Levante’s Etta Eyong, whom Barça attempted to sign during the summer. The 22-year-old is emerging as one of the most promising forwards in La Liga and would be available for around €30 million.
