Hilary Duff has revealed that, although she preceded Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato on Disney Channel, she never felt the need to take them under her wing.
The Lizzie McGuire star said on the Therapuss podcast that Selena and Demi approached her for advice, but she never said, “Let me show you the way,” reports DailyMail.
“It’s been so fun to watch them follow their own paths and see how far they’ve come,” Duff said. She added that she has always given young people general advice: “You have to be brave and show who you are. Even if your first job isn’t what you want, you shouldn’t give up.”
The 38-year-old actress is currently promoting her new song “Mature,” which reflects on her past self and the experiences that shaped her.
In addition to her success on screen, Hilary said she has learned to accept the realities of life and not to regret her choices — including growing up as a Disney Channel star.
