Former Brazilian striker Ronaldo, known by his nickname “The Phenomenon,” has commented on a statement made by Cristiano Ronaldo, who once claimed to be the greatest player in football history.
In an interview, the Brazilian legend said that he does not agree with that assessment, although he admits that the Portuguese star is among the best players the sport has ever seen.
“Cristiano Ronaldo says he’s the best in history? I don’t like to talk about that. Some people have a very high self-esteem. I prefer to let others talk about my performances and what I’ve achieved,” said Ronaldo.
“The Phenomenon” added that he admires the Portuguese forward’s career.
“Cristiano has had a fantastic career. He has scored all kinds of goals and has adapted very well to changing positions — from the left wing to center forward — which is not easy,” he emphasized.
“Of course, he is among the best players in football history, probably in the top ten, but not the very best,” Ronaldo concluded.
