Bayern Munich have contacted Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate to explore a potential transfer next summer, in case Dayot Upamecano refuses to renew his contract, reports the German newspaper Bild.
Talks between Upamecano’s representatives and the Bavarian club are ongoing but have yet to result in any agreement.
The 27-year-old is reportedly demanding a significant signing bonus, which has forced Bayern to reconsider their offer. However, the German giants are determined not to lose the French defender and are working to convince him to stay long-term.

At the same time, the club’s management is preparing for every scenario, viewing Ibrahima Konate as a potential replacement for Upamecano. Konate’s situation at Liverpool is quite similar, as his contract also expires next summer and renewal talks have stalled.
The 26-year-old has experience in the Bundesliga, having previously played for Leipzig, and could adapt quickly to Bayern if the move goes through. However, Real Madrid are also in the race for his signature.
Meanwhile, if Konate decides to leave, Liverpool are expected to join the race for Upamecano as well.
