Real Madrid’s Turkish midfielder, Arda Güler, has said that he and French forward Kylian Mbappé have developed a strong understanding at the club.
The Turkish star is going through an excellent period under coach Xabi Alonso. After getting only a few minutes of playing time last season under Carlo Ancelotti, he has now become an important part of the team.
In an interview with the French newspaper L’Équipe, Güler expressed his full confidence in his coach.
“I have complete faith in Xabi Alonso’s plans. If one day he tells me to play as a goalkeeper, I’ll go and buy gloves,” he said jokingly.
He also spoke about his relationship with the French striker, with whom he is building a great on-field partnership.
“Mbappé’s qualities and mine are made for each other. We understand each other very well — everything flows naturally. Sometimes we talk before matches about certain movements, but there are also moments when just one look is enough for us to understand each other,” he said.
