Liverpool Faces Serious Concerns Ahead of Weekend Clash with Manchester United

Liverpool is facing serious concerns ahead of this weekend’s blockbuster clash against Manchester United, which will take place on Sunday at Anfield as part of Matchday 8 of the Premier League. Manager Arne Slot, who is looking to end a three-game losing streak, may be without two of his most important players: Ibrahima Konaté and Ryan Gravenberch.

French defender Konaté was forced off the pitch in the 56th minute of the match against Chelsea due to a thigh muscle issue. Although he was later called up by the French national team, he did not play a single minute and returned to Liverpool following ongoing physical discomfort.

If he fails to recover in time, Slot is expected to field Joe Gomez alongside Van Dijk, as Giovanni Leoni is ruled out for the remainder of the season.

In midfield, Gravenberch’s situation is also causing concern. The 23-year-old felt muscle pain during the Netherlands’ recent match against Finland and was substituted at halftime. According to coach Ronald Koeman, it is a minor issue but one that requires caution.

If Gravenberch is unavailable, Curtis Jones or Wataru Endo could take his place in the starting lineup.

Liverpool is seeking to return to winning ways in a match of great importance — both for morale and for defending their Premier League title hopes.
