Birthday Party: Neighbors Accuse Vinicius of Disturbing the Peace

Vinicius Junior may face legal punishment after being accused of “disturbing public order” in his hometown in Brazil. The 25-year-old was reportedly warned by police on the night of the incident.

In July of this year, following Real Madrid’s elimination from the FIFA Club World Cup, Vinicius returned to Brazil as usual to spend his vacation. During that time, he organized a lavish party to celebrate his 25th birthday — a celebration that may now have landed him in trouble.

According to Globo, via Marca, one of his neighbors accused Vinicius of “disturbing the public peace.” On the night of the event, military police were called to the scene in Rio de Janeiro and asked the footballer to lower the volume of the music. However, after the police left, the noise from the music and shouting reportedly increased again, and the party continued from July 19 into the early hours of July 21.

If found guilty, Vinicius could face a sentence ranging from 15 days to three months in jail, although a financial fine is the more likely outcome.

Marca adds that Vinicius had invited around 500 guests, arranged various entertainment attractions for the event, and even had the famous singer Travis Scott perform. There were also fireworks, which may partly explain the high noise levels. The Brazilian singer Anitta — a close friend of Vinicius — was among the attendees, as was his Real Madrid teammate Eduardo Camavinga. Just a few days earlier, both were seen enjoying themselves at Éder Militão’s wedding.

This is the second time Vinicius’s private life has made headlines in Brazil. Earlier, he publicly apologized to model Virginia Fonseca, calling it “careless” of him to have posted a photo with her.
