After securing qualification for the 2026 World Cup, the Italian coach hopes to make history, as no national team has ever won the World Cup under a foreign manager.
“There’s always a first time,” said the Brazil coach ahead of the friendly match that Seleção will play in Seoul against South Korea, reports Gazeta Express.
“My goal is to give my best for the Brazilian national team, to make the team play as well as possible, and to win the World Cup,” continued “Don Carlo,” who, if he triumphs at the 2026 World Cup, would become the first coach born in another country to win the most prestigious trophy in world football with a different nation.
Although Brazil has qualified, the team struggled during the qualifying phase, finishing fifth in the South American standings.
Because of this, the former coach of Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Everton, Bayern Munich, and Napoli is not entirely satisfied and believes his team can perform much better.
“The team has the quality to play beautiful football, but we need to think about and understand what ‘beautiful football’ truly means,” Ancelotti concluded.
Brazil last won the World Cup in 2022, and now they aim to restore their glory at the tournament to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
