Twenty surviving hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip have been released and handed over to the Red Cross.
Earlier this morning, the first seven hostages were freed.
The hostages were taken by Hamas during an attack on October 7, 2023, and their release marks a key step toward ending the two-year conflict in Gaza, as part of a ceasefire agreement proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The bodies of 26 deceased hostages and two others whose fate remains unknown are expected to be handed over on Monday.
In return, nearly 2,000 detained and convicted Palestinian prisoners will be released.
Meanwhile, Trump is currently in Israel. He has met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog.
