Poem by Ligor Stafa

SURROUNDED BY BUSTS
Amid inquisitive and nonchalant gazes,
You feel an abrupt sting,
A gypsum’s resounding slap,
A cunning mind at play,
And meanwhile, do you choose to stand or not?
Do you stand or not in the space
Where the Self has taken its place?
And you, entangled in the incomprehensible,
Pose the question to the comprehensible:
Why not leave autographs once more,
D.Q. of Mancha,
Narcissus II?
Why don’t they want to let you
Stay, even here, in this corner
Of the grand hall?
Why,
When there are still vacant seats?
