And God made me a woman,
with long hair,
with eyes,
a nose, and a mouth of a woman.
With curves,
folds,
and soft valleys,
He shaped me from within
and made me a workshop of human beings.
He gently wove my nerves,
carefully balanced
the number of my hormones.
He created my blood
and placed within it
the power to water
my entire body.
Then came thoughts,
dreams,
instincts.
He created everything softly —
with breaths of life,
with piercings of love —
a thousand and one things
that make me a woman every day,
and for which I rise proud
each morning
and bless my gender.
