Peace between Juventus and Milan

Juventus and Milan shared the points tonight at the Allianz Stadium after a 0-0 draw, in a match marked by a dramatically missed penalty from Milan’s in-form striker, Christian Pulisic.

The first half began cautiously from both sides, with few real threats. An early run from Davide Bartesaghi down the left flank produced a good cross into the box for Fofana, but the latter fired well over the bar. Jonathan David continued his poor run of form in front of goal, failing to link up with Weston McKennie in two consecutive plays.

The game slowed down for several minutes, with many midfield duels. Both Juventus and Milan looked more dangerous on the wings, trying to create space through quick flank play.

Milan had their first clear chance after the 20th minute, when Pulisic won the ball in midfield and drove into the box, but slipped at the decisive moment. A poor clearance from the Juventus defense nearly gifted Fofana a golden opportunity, but La Vecchia Signora reacted quickly.

Near the end of the first half, Pavlovic created a golden chance for the Rossoneri with a perfect cross from the flank, but Santiago Gimenez headed wide from very close range.

In the second half, Juventus started better. After a short corner taken by Conceição, the ball reached Gatti, who struck on the volley, only for Maignan to produce a fantastic save.

In the 52nd minute, Milan won a penalty after a careless foul by Lloyd Kelly on Gimenez. However, Pulisic squandered the ideal chance, sending the ball over the crossbar and giving Juventus a huge sigh of relief.

After the missed penalty, Milan took control of the match. Luka Modric dictated the tempo from midfield, while Juventus looked for space on the counterattack. Rafael Leao, who had just come on, attempted a spectacular long-range shot from midfield after spotting goalkeeper Di Gregorio off his line — the ball flew just over the bar.

Both managers reacted with substitutions: Tudor brought on Vlahovic and Openda, while Allegri introduced Leao, Nkunku, and Loftus-Cheek. However, Juventus’ changes cost them attacking momentum, as their two most dangerous players of the night — Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceição — were taken off.

In the closing minutes, the game lost its rhythm. Tudor tried to switch formations by bringing on Kostic for Rugani, but it was too late. Allegri’s Milan held firm and secured a valuable away draw, keeping a clean sheet.

Leao had two golden chances late on to give Milan the win but failed to finish either. Nonetheless, with Pulisic’s missed penalty, the Rossoneri will leave disappointed not to have taken all three points on the pitch of one of their biggest rivals.
