Manchester City Targeting Donnarumma

At the request of Luis Enrique, PSG have signed Chevalier from Lille for €40 million — a technical choice that has effectively pushed Gigio Donnarumma “out of the door.”

Given the current situation of the Italian goalkeeper in Paris, it’s impossible not to mention the difficulties in renewing his contract, which expires in 2026.

The European champions’ new policy is to lower fixed salaries while agreeing to higher bonuses — bonuses which, however, are not guaranteed and depend on the player’s performances and the team’s success.

Donnarumma currently earns €12 million, but PSG have offered him €8 million plus €2–3 million in bonuses. Understandably, after his excellent performances last season, he is unhappy with the proposal.

In the past few hours, Manchester City have made an approach, as they are selling Ederson to Galatasaray. In the Premier League, rivals such as United could also consider him, while Chelsea would need another goalkeeper but currently have other priorities.

There’s no need to overthink the situation — it’s enough to wait a few days for the meeting between the player’s agents and the club. Three scenarios are on the table: an immediate transfer, leaving in 2026 as a free agent, or a contract renewal with a potential loan move, allowing more time to calmly plan a permanent transfer next year.
