HomeCultureLiteraturePoem by Leonard Cohen:

Poem by Leonard Cohen:

Except for a few hours
in the morning
which I spent in the company
of a wise man,
I stayed in bed
without food,
but I drank a few sips of water.

“You are a handsome old man,”
I said to myself in the mirror.
“And moreover,
you need to correct your posture.
You don’t care whether this ends
or continues.
As for women
and music,
you’ll have plenty
in Paradise.”**

Then I went to the Mosque
of Memory

to express my gratitude.
