Poem by William Butler

When You Have a Glass of Aged Wine
When you have a glass of aged wine
And love within your eyes —
What more, oh man, could you ever need
Before you say goodbye?

And you lift the glass to your lips,
Be it bitter or sweet, let it be…
I gaze at you, O Moon, my muse!
I gaze — and sigh quietly.
